80 passengers on board: Jet crash lands at busy airport
Toronto (Canada) - A scary moment on landing. At Toronto Pearson Airport , the 80 passengers on a Delta flight narrowly escaped a catastrophe.

The crash landing of a passenger airplane in the Canadian metropolis of Toronto has just come off lightly.
Although the plane from the USA with 80 people on board came to rest upside down on the runway, according to initial information from the airline Delta, there were probably no fatalities. However, 18 injured people were taken to hospital for treatment, it was reported.
It initially remained unclear how the accident occurred. According to Delta Air Lines, the Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft made a crash landing at around 2.15 p.m. local time. Images from the scene of the accident showed the jet, which is usually used for regional flights, lying upside down on the tarmac.
Smoke was rising from the wreckage and passengers were running away from the wrecked aircraft.
Accident at Toronto Pearson Airport is a happy one
Passengers at a loss "Our plane has crashed"

A video apparently recorded by an eyewitness circulated online, showing people stepping out of an open aircraft door and a fire engine spraying the stricken plane with water.
A voice in the video says: "We're in Toronto, we've just landed, our plane has crashed, it's upside down, the fire department is on the scene."
According to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Canadian authorities are investigating the accident. According to weather reports, there were wind gusts of more than 50 kilometers per hour at the time of the accident and the temperature was around eight degrees below zero. In winter, however, Toronto Airport is prepared for extreme cold and adverse conditions.
A Bombardier CRJ was also involved in the terrible plane crash at Ronald Reagan Airport in Washington D.C. at the end of January . The plane collided with a military helicopter in mid-air on approach and subsequently crashed over the Potomac River. None of the 64 people on board survived the accident.
